Final Thoughts and Review
This is the final week of the course. Hopefully this series of lectures, readings, and discussion questions have encouraged you to think broadly and critically about how visuals can act as tools of activism, agency, and change.
Digital images can: 1. communicate anti-establishment messages, 2. address issues related to gender and sexuality, 3. challenge stereotypical representations of people and groups, and 4. be used at the community level for social change. It's our hope that you begin to apply some of the critical thinking cases in this lecture series to visuals you encounter in your daily life or in your future studies and research. |
